Four students from the Department of Civil Engineering and one student from the Department of Architectural Engineering won the prize of Techno Innovation Challenge Cambodia 2024, competing under the banner of the ‘Eco-Craft Project.’ Eco-Craft project is created for recycling materials in construction. It is working on recycling glasses and coconut waste to create pavement blocks by making use the 3D printer from faculty of civil engineering to help with creating the frame sample. This aligns perfectly with our mission to reduce waste and promote eco-conscious construction. This project is supervised and supported especially by:
– Faculty of Civil Engineering (GCI & GAR)
– Dr. HIN Raveth
– Dr. HENG Sounean
– Dr. OENG Thaileng
– Mr. Nuth Visal
The Eco-Craft project proposes an eco-friendly pavement solution that utilizes recycled materials in construction. The design incorporates coconut husk fibers as a partial replacement for sand in the aggregate mix, while also integrating a measured amount of glass powder into the cement. This combination can improve pavement durability and sustainability by reducing waste.
